At Coastal Pilates & Fitness, we believe that Pilates is more than just exercise - it's a powerful tool to restore your body to its optimal alignment, reduce everyday strain on your joints, and help you move through life with strength and ease.
When programmed correctly, Pilates works to:
> Strengthen weak muscles
> Release and lengthen tight areas
> Improve posture, alignment and balance
> Support injury prevention and joint health
By retraining your body from the inside out, you'll start to feel stronger, more toned, leaner in appearance - and those lingering aches and pains? They often begin to disappear.
An expertly delivered Pilates session is a whole-body, balanced workout, targeting your deep stabilising muscles and supporting everything from everyday movement to high-level sport. Pilates compliments all other forms of activity and helps rebalance your body - especially if you've been compensating due to injury, poor posture, or years of repetitive movement.
How to Get Started
We offer New Starter Packs tailored to your needs - choose from:

Every new starter pack begins with a comprehensive initial consultation, which includes:

This ensures we tailor your Pilates experience from day one and give your body the right foundation for success.
Please note:
We do not offer casual classes or drop-ins. We are a boutique, traditional Pilates studio - not a Reformer-only studio - and take pride in offering a thorough, supportive onboarding process.
Not Sure Yet?
We invite you to book a time to visit the studio and observe a class or session in action. This is a great way to get a feel for our space, our teaching style, and how Pilates can support your body and goals.
Private Pilates Session
A Pilates private session is a one hour Pilates session involving one client to one instructor.
Private Pilates sessions generally involve a combination of mat based exercises and the use of the Pilates machines to meet your goals, address any pain or injury and most importantly to address any postural deviations in your body and, let’s face it, we all have postural deviations whether we are in pain now or not.
We recommend Pilates private sessions when you require a higher level of supervision from an instructor due to certain health conditions or restrictions you are dealing with. Or maybe you want the most flexible times when attending your sessions at the studio.

Semi-Private Pilates Session
A Pilates semi-private session entails one instructor supervising up to 3-4 clients who are working on their own tailored program.
Your semi-private sessions begin once you’ve attended your initial consultation and then have a follow-up private session to make sure you understand your beginner program before entering into a small group.
These sessions also generally involve a combination of mat based exercises and the use of the Pilates machines to meet your goals, address any pain or injury and most importantly address any postural deviations in your body.
Semi-private sessions are great for those who need more tailored Pilates without the expense of private lessons and for those of you who have a certain health conditions or restrictions you may be dealing with.

Pilates Mat Class
A Pilates mat class involves doing a whole-body workout on a mat. Pilates mat classes are designed for the general population and are only suitable if you do not have any injuries or special health conditions.
Often, we will incorporate small apparatus into the class for extra challenge, support or variety. Small apparatus includes stability balls, dumbbells, resistance bands, fit balls, foam rollers, magic circles, ankle weights, Oov’s and more. No Pilates machines are used in a Pilates mat class and there is a maximum of 8 participants in each class.
- All classes are graded therefore you should be attending a class suited to the level you are currently at in Pilates:
- For Beginner level Pilates mat, no prior experience necessary
- For Basic level Pilates mat, you must have completed the ‘Class new starter pack’ or the ‘Pilates semi-private new starter pack’
- For Intermediate Pilates, a minimum of 1 year’s regular attendance of basic level Pilates mat
- For Advanced Pilates, a minimum of 2 year’s regular attendance of Intermediate level Pilates mat
These classes are not suitable if you are in pain or injured or have certain medical conditions. We offer private and semi-private Pilates sessions instead.

This class is not suitable if you are in pain or have certain injuries/health conditions. We offer private and semi-private Pilates sessions instead.

Barre Attack
Barre Attack classes are a dynamic fusion of Pilates, Ballet and Fitness. It’s an all body work-out using the classic Ballet Barre that attacks those dreaded problem areas — legs, butt, thighs and arms.
So how does it work?
Classes at the studio go for 1 hour. You don’t need to bring any special equipment and don’t need any experience. Many clients simply wear normal gym or workout attire, grip socks and bring a towel and water. To find out more of an overview of what you might get from a typical class, go to: barreattack.com
There are no pre-requisites for this class except it does help to have some Pilates knowledge, an appreciation of how to set up good posture and some dance background.
This class however, would not suitable if you are in pain or injured or have certain medical conditions. We offer private and semi-private Pilates sessions instead.
